YUMMY ...

I come back from training with the boss ... and the office is filled with Hickory Farms gift baskets ... See's chocolates and tubs of tri-flavored popcorn. I am PIGGING OUT! YES!

Ah ... and then everyone is leaving at around 3 p.m. for the office Christmas party. I opted out though ... but will be leaving at 4. YAY! I can't wait to get out of here. And, I can't believe Christmas will come next week. Geesh ... where did the year go?

Well ... I'm out ... gonna go get me some chocolate ... and cheese with crackers. Mmmmm.

SUGAR ...

Well I finished "The Fuck-Up" the other evening ... reading it in bed ... and the ending just was a total surprise. Now I am going to concentrate on "The Crimson Petal And The White" by Michel Faber. I have to admit that what got me first was the cover. Looks to be borrowed from Renaissance art. Then I saw the words National Bestseller on the top ... hmmm ... I looked on the back cover for the synopsis:

After reading that I was won over. I am halfway through it right now, and hopefully I'll finish it by the time Monday rolls around. CONFUSION ...

Well, it seems that many of my subscribers were ... confused with the skin. So I took it off for now. Things seem to be settling down in my "world" for now as well too. The world is insane at times. And it gets me in a dizzy spin at times.

Crazy is as crazy does I guess ... LOL! I don't even know what I'm typing now. I think the pain meds I am taking for my kidney infection are messing with my mind. LOL!

I should just get back to work now and let my mind get back to the routine ... have a great day everybody!

SNEAKY ...

So, just to let my subscribers know. In a few days I'm going to put up a "skin" on my Xanga that will make it seem like I shut down my site. Not to worry, I have not done such a thing. It is but a ... ruse ... in a way. You will still be able to read my posts when you look in the "YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS" link on YOUR Xanga - though I think that most of you already read them that way. That or you could just choose to receive my posts through e-mail. For, if you click on my Xanga name you will see the site shut down screen.

This is just something that I felt needed to be done for my own peace of mind ... too many prying eyes around here at times ... and I already have the greatest subscribers EVER - no need for any more! Thank you for bearing with me ... it is much appreciated.

EDIT: To answer Sorcia's question. I made the skin myself. Well actually I copied the source code for the one Xanga has and then fudged with it a little. I tried it last nite ... and it works like a charm. I know enough HTML to mess around with it ... I'll probably put it up this weekend. It'll be a trip. And, if anyone wants a copy I'd be more than happy to send one your way. Right now, I have adapted it for premium. Working on one for regular Xanga ... maybe putting white text so the user can get to their Xanga with CTRL+A - yet the average user won't know how to get to it

LOL! I am so ... bad! A little knowledge is certainly a powerful thing ...

EDIT #2: Yes, lostyetlooking. You will still my posts in the SIR section of YOUR Xanga. If you want to comment, you click on comment and it will take you to the post. It's only if you click on my Xanga name that you will see the site shut down page. But, all subscribers will be still be able to see ALL my posts. I tested it myself!

SENSUALITY ...

If you read my Monday post on reading ... you will come to the realization that I am a whore for books. GOD I LOVE BOOKS! I love going to the Library and taking in the smell of books. Feeling their volumes crowd around me ... and listen to the stillness ... to be broken when the spine bends and the insides are revealed to my lecherous eyes.

I got my copy of "Juliette" today. DAMN! 1,193 pages of sadistic salaciousness. YES! I ripped open the packaging ... I gently took the book out. Felt the weight in my hands ... caressed the cool cover. Then I opened the book ... my breath taken away by the font. So ... sensual ... (what can I say)! Almost like taking the innocence of a virgin when you break that spine ... intoxicating. I took the book to my face and inhaled the scent deeply ... deeply ... deeply. I release a moan of pleasure.

Then I run my hands across the contents. Opening it up at random points and reading bits and pieces ... then I wantonly run my hand over the pages. Lift the book up to my nose once again and take a deep inhale. WONDERFUL!

Ok ... books ... get ... me ... hot ... AND ... bothered! They are treasured loves of life that bring me so much ... different views ... worlds ... and ways of being. They ask nothing but to be opened and enjoyed. Such as life should be!

Am I the only one to feel this way?

And .... this Friday I am going to a munch. Plus, the Lair might be open in January ... to add to it i got an invite to SoCal Conversations which is organized by the lady I am meeting on Friday at the munch. Finally ... I get to meet people in MY CITY!

READING ...

Right now I'm juggling quite a few books. I have one by my bed - "The Olympia Reader". One at my computer desk - "The Crimson Petal And The White". One at work - "The Fuck-Up". And another one in my car - "The Power Of Now" ... on the passenger seat! So, I always have something to keep me occupied. But, I was reading "The Fuck-Up" ... and it just had one of the greatest ... and funniest line ever!

Fate is a sadist!

The little fight that preceeded this dialogue was quite hilarious as well ... though not for the protagonist who had his calf bitten by the butchy (his words, not mine) girlfriend of his roommate. Man ... that was just priceless.

Hopefully when I get home today my copy of "Juliette" will have arrived. Can't wait ...
